Another great family looking for a little more "master suite oasis" for the parents and a little more "separate play area" for the kiddos. This traditional Balcones Village home was ready for an upgrade, which in this case consisted of a 2nd story playroom and pool bath on one side of the house and a master suite addition on the other.

We decided to split the two additions into completely separate builds to allow the family to continue living in the house and not disrupt their daily routine (too much). We walled off the back corner of their house and started with the two story playroom and pool bath addition. As usual with remodel adventures there are obstacles to overcome, and our first obstacle was how to plumb the new pool bathroom.

When the original house was built the main sewer line to the street was not installed deep enough to maintain enough slope for a proper wastewater exit from the new bathroom location. We had two options at that point. Either run an entire new line from the new bathroom to the sewer main at the street or install a wastewater pump to force the effluent out. Each has its own set of pros and cons, but in the end the owners chose the pump. With that big decision out of the way we were able to start demo, form up the foundation for the addition, and tie the new plumbing into the existing sewer line without too much fuss. The addition was built and were able to track down matching stone to perfectly blend to the existing home's siding, as well as match the roof.

Once complete, the owners were able to move in their new space while we took over the existing master bedroom/bathroom area. Once again, we were able to wall off the other back corner and keep our construction work almost completely separate from the family's living space. We added a small foundation to the back of house to accommodate the new bathroom, then completely demo'd and reworked the existing space to make a new master bedroom and large walk-in closet layout. The new "parent oasis" was capped off with a luxurious master shower with inset jacuzzi, body sprays, custom shower heads, and state of the art controls.
